The first room is exclusively dedicated to the presence of human beings in the area. There are pieces from all prehistorical and historical ages that allow us to identify the different human groups and cultures that left their mark in these lands.
Artistic impressions illustrate something of the frequently hard lives of people. They show a Neolithic harvester, a foundry from the Bronze Age, a baker in his early oven and a Roman road.
There are also scientifically correct reconstructions of a Neolithic dolmen, the inside of a Celtiberian house with a weaving loom and a Roman altar complete with an orginal stela.
There is also a limestone replica, carved by local sculptor Ricardo Santamaria, of the Visigothic arch in the chapel of Quintanilla de las Viñas, one of the most important examples of this kind of art in Spain.
